Who am I and why do I want to blog?

My name is Anne Welker. In 2008 I retired from being an Associate Minister of the Center For Spiritual Enlightenment in San Jose, California.

I was widowed at the age of 36, single for six years and remarried 34 years ago. From my first marriage I have three children, two grandchildren, one great grandchild and…… I also have eight step children, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren from my second marriage.  I am almost 80 years old, grateful to be alive and healthy I’ll be celebrating this auspicious time in my life everyday. Blogging is one way I’ll do that for the next year and a half. I’ll be 80 years old on November 12, 2013.

I’ve learned a lot being on the planet so long and wanted a way to share what I’ve learned. Blogging seemed like the best way to do that. Because I’m willing to continue to learn I’ve discovered that writing is a way to discover more about who I am and what my purpose on earth is for the rest of my life. I hope that what I share here will speak to you hearts and motivate you to discover more about yourselves and in the process help me learn more about me.

Please note that I made an error regarding the date I retired. The date is 2008 not 1985. It’s amazing to me how easy it is to make mistakes. No matter how hard we try…..we do nothing perfectly. Thank God I can admit my mistakes, hopefull learn from them and move on.

So much to learn about doing this blog. I’m grateful for this opportunity to become more knowledgeable about ways to use the computer. It’s very challenging for me. In fact, my friend help set me up and then for two months I was too busy to start. When I decided it was time I could not remember anything I’d learned and was ready to call my friend, with egg on my face. Something told me to just put it to rest and try another time. Well I tried another time and still could not remember what to do. I did not give up. I slept on it one more night and low and behold the next day it all came together and here I am. I have a lot more to learn…..that’s something I don’t do well by myself but… I know without a doubt that if I get stuck the best thing I can do is ask for help.

Facebook is fun but so limiting so that’s another reason I’ve decided to blog. That’s it for now.
